While Sony has been very adamant about the quality of their 2009 line up, they've often carefully picked their wording in regards to when certain games will be out. Sony has been interchangably using calendar year, used to designate January 2009 to December 2009, and fiscal year, designating April 2009 to March 2010. This, of course, causes a lot of confusion for the PlayStation hopefuls, who want to know if their games will be out for Christmas this year or not.
Scott Rhodes, Sony's Vice President of Product Development, has perhaps shed a bit of light on MAG, at the least. While discussing the PS3's line up for the remainder of the year, he talked a bit in regards to Sony's creative process behind developing new intellectual properties. "I think what we try to do is come up with original concepts, and even twists on some existing genres, like what we’re doing with MAG for later this year" he explained, revealing that MAG should be out some time in 2009. To clarify, as the 2009 fiscal year has not yet begun, Rhodes can only be speaking of the 2009 calendar year.
MAG is a massively multplayer online shooting game, developed by Zipper Interactive. |
