Kazunori Yamauchi, the head of Polyphony Digital, blew us all away when he announced that Gran Turismo PSP, after being MIA for years, would release in October this year. Could he be planning to do the same with Gran Turismo 5? Regardless of whether the game does come out this year or not, Yamauchi and company intend on revealing the exact launch date of GT5 shortly. In a recent interview with AutoWeek and reported by GTPlanet, Yamauchi teased "We will give the release date of the Gran Turismo 5 soon".
It seems likely that Sony would pick the Tokyo Game Show as their battleground, where they announced Gran Turismo 5: Prologue's official release date back in 2007. Tokyo Game Show is set to take place this fall, from September 24 - 27. So what do you guys think - 2009 or 2010?
