At a recent Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer reveal event at Infinity Ward, Robert Bowling, Creative Strategist at Infinity Ward was asked:

"Are you guys still sticking to your philosophy of no achievements for multiplayer, is that still gonna be a single player only thing?"

He replied "I hate multiplayer achievements. I hate when players play the game for a personal objective instead of actually trying to win the game. So we try to avoid that stuff. Honestly we haven't set the achievements in stone yet, so I'd never say never." This led many to assume that Modern Warfare 2 would not be including multiplayer trophies.

Well, the game's trophy list has been revealed here and as expected there are no online multiplayer trophies, although there are a few trophies for the Special Ops co-op mode.
