As a big Hideo Kojima fan, I've always loved all the references and easter eggs he puts in his games giving the nod to some of his past titles. So when I heard about an easter egg in Fallout 3 giving the nod to Hideo Kojima's cult classic Snatcher, I had to post it up. Snatcher was the second game Hideo Kojima directed, after the iconic game Metal Gear for the MSX computer system. Snatcher was also for the MSX, although it was later ported to a myriad of other system, including the Sega CD, Saturn, and PlayStation. The game featured Gillian Seed, a man suffering from amnesia who's only memory connected him to snatchers, androids who kill and replace innocent members of society. Spoilers for both games follow.
In Fallout 3, there's a mission you can get in Megaton where you have to get a mine from a minefield. There's a neighborhood near by with a house's labeled as Gillian's house(main protagonist from Snatcher), Gibson's house(Gillian's partner), and Benson(Gillian/Gibson's chief). There is a dollhouse in Gibson's house, which is an important clue in Gibson's house in Snatcher.
Further, early into Snatcher, you find Gibson dead, with his head twisted off in between his legs. In Fallout 3, there is another reference to this. You can find Gibson in Fallout 3, with his head twisted off in a similar manner to Snatcher. He's located at the L'Enfant South office building. Also, Gibson has a key to the house named after him, and also has a piece of paper that says "Search the house!", another clue found on his body, just like in Snatcher.
