Of course companies continue to thrive for realism. Look at the brilliant graphics of MGS4 or Killzone 2. Look at the description of Six Days to Fallujah. It’s a horror based game because the terrorist don’t expect to go home alive, they are constantly waiting for a soldier to peek his head up in the wrong place. They are there to kill as many soldiers as possible before they die themselves. Sometimes soldiers would walk into empty buildings, sometimes its intense fire fights, nobody ever knew, and nobody was safe in their minds. Is this too much? Is it at a point that we need to start restricting games before they truly go too far?
You could very well blame it on the amazing advancements Microsoft and Sony keep throwing out there with their respective consoles. This makes it possible for the once unimaginable to be brought to life. Before nobody cared about violent games or realism going too far, because it could never go as far as it is today. Now it seems as though these games are hitting home in ways people are uncomfortable with. So I leave the entire opinion to you. I showed you both sides of the arguments brought up recently, but of course the violence and realism in video games go much further. Now it’s your turn to make a statement and opinion on the matter. Are video games going too far? Are the leaked videos of Modern Warfare too much? Should Six Days to Fallujah still be in production? |
