Number 1 Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake

We thought it would be fair to give both games just one slot, even though we already threw one at MGS. Many people forget about the two original Metal Gear games; instead people usually believe Metal Gear Solid is the first of the series. Well it’s not; Kojima was riding the Metal Gear train long before PSX was even invented. Metal Gear was the first game to introduce stealth based gameplay instead of shooting or confronting your enemies in anyway. Its Kojima, he is always on top of the game bringing new ideas about... so what’s new?

The technology that was available at the time was much like Snatcher, very dated and not easy to work with. So in return we get an amazing idea, but very restricted gameplay. The game was originally made for the MSX2, but was ported to NES and MS-Dos computers (yes it’s that old). Just like all Kojima games, these had absolutely tremendous stories to tell. The bad thing is that he was stuck with the dated technology used to make the games, making it somewhat hard to sit through the stories they offer as a gamer. I’m sure all the absolute hardcore fans have done it several times, but Kojima we want to share the experience with everyone! Remake these games with PS3 tech and offer the experiences all over again, they deserve it, the fans want it, and it’s all possible. What do you say?

The engines we want used would obviously be the MGS4 engine for the same reasons as above. However Kojima is known for bringing new technology with his games and innovating to new levels, so we would love nothing more than to see something entirely new built right in his studios. Of course we want to see Kojima get the chance to step away from Metal Gear for a while and explore other idea’s too. Snatcher would be a good start, but eventually we hope to see him come back to these two great titles!
