MW2 proves lower prices benefits consumers and devs
Posted on November 14, 2009 by Nick

Modern Warfare 2 came out earlier this week.  If you eat and breathe FPS, you probably snapped it up at midnight on Modern Monday.  Not quite that hardcore, but still a gaming aficionado, then maybe you were one of the 4.7 million that brought it home on Modern Warfare 2sday.  And if you're just a casual gamer, then it's likely you are one of the remaining 2.3 million that picked up your copy of 'Call of Duty 6' later in the week.  If you don't have Modern Warfare 2 yet, turn in your gamer card at the door.

Infinity Ward's latest blockbuster made headlines across the world earlier this week - whether it was because of the raving critics, the smashed sales record, or the smear campaign ran by conservative news channels, a lot has been said about Modern Warfare 2.  Surprisingly though, the one aspect of Modern Warfare 2 that is probably the most relevant to gamers has been overlooked - Modern Warfare 2 has proven that lower game prices not only benefit the consumer but developers too.

Totally, agree, i am in the UK, and the Sainsbury store had the game for £26, when i heard that...MW2 purchase for me was a dead cert!....i mean before i was considering it as i had already spent a lot on games in the month...so i was going to wait for a while....but an amazing game at an amazing price just makes decisions like that easier.
