So today is Black Friday, Monday is Cyber Monday, and there is probably deals all weekend for you to enjoy. The bad side of this? People will be bum rushing every store known to man and getting the simplest of things will be a pain. No fear though, if you happen to be a gamer that was just a second to late to pick up a killer gaming deal, there are still options. Here are some ideas that could save your holiday this year, along with a few bucks.
#1 Try a Game Trading Website
There are plenty of these out there on the internet. One I personally use, and works great, is Goozex.com. What these sites do is allow people to set up a queue for request, similar to Netflix, and request games from other people. You use points and trading tokens to get games at prices extremely lower than used and new game prices. How do you earn these points? Its simple, trade out your old games that you’re not playing to other people and get “paid” in points for them. Of course you can straight out pay for points as well, which also comes out to be cheaper than actually buying the game half the time. Shipping is normally completely free and the sites are usually user friendly. It’s a great way to find games that are either both really old and hard to find, or too expensive for your holiday shopping.
#2 Online Used Game Websites
There are a ton of these websites open now, a Gamestop like business, but its completely online. One I use isGamestaq.com, but they only do new games for the PS3, Wii, and 360 so far. Amazon and a few others just opened theirs up as well however. What these sites do is price match stores like Gamestop and let you trade in games and extremely good prices, usually 40-50 bucks for a newer game. The nice part is that they turn around and sell them for the exact same price, if not cheaper. So if a game is worth 30 bucks to you, it’s worth 30-33 dollars to them. Gamestaq is a very good place to pick up new games at low prices. While they may be used, they still have a quality control center that handles all the games to make sure they are in top shape, so you have no worries really. |
