Reason 2 - Free Online Gaming

Sony has always been happy offering free online access for gaming, period. There are no “plans” or subscription fees when it comes to playing online with PlayStation. There is no downside to playing for free when it comes to PSN. In-fact the differences between PlayStation Network and competing subscription based networks are only seen under a microscope. With PlayStation Network you get free access to playing online games such as Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 or Killzone 2, free access to the PlayStation Store featuring new demos and related content every week, free access to the PlayStation Video Store feature for newly released movies for purchase and rent (including Sony Studios that Netflix can’t offer), and finally access to one of the biggest online communities. Within this community you can chat with friends live via voice, video, or text and earn trophies by completing certain tasks in a game.

Reason 1 - Better Exclusive Games

We mentioned that the PS3 has better, original games, but they also have the better exclusive games in general. With Sony, first party developers are allowed the creative freedom to do what they want as long as it meets the PlayStation standard in quality. Titles such as InFamous, Killzone 2, Resistance, Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted, and so many others are unrivaled in comparison by any other games. The quality of PlayStation games is guaranteed to blow you away and with games such as God of War 3, Gran Turismo 5, Heavy Rain, and MAG all due out in the near future….that quality isn’t ending anytime soon.
