Saturday morning cartoons were a big part of my childhood.  From Batman and X-Men to Bobby's World and Ren and Stimpy, the 4 hours between 8AM and noon on any given Saturday were spent with my butt firmly planted on the carpet in front of the TV.  The prevalence of Saturday morning cartoons has taken a nose dive over the past decade, due to multiple reasons - new regulations enforcing more educational programs, concerns over the the products promoted by advertisers, and the increasing availability of cable channels like Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network.  The increasing popularity of video games also attributed to the downfall of Saturday morning cartoons as well, with prospective cartoon watchers playing increasingly more video games.
