question about the 80 GB

okay so even though sony said at the end of july that 60 GB is gone & then i've heard that the 80 GB is coming early august, but PCN keeps on saying its september, they have said it like 4 times, so which is the real release date??

I have repeatedly read that the release date for the 80 gig model was August. However, Sony might be waiting for all 60 gig models to sell out though.

If I were buying my PS3 now, I'd jump on the 60 gig model at $499. It contains the PS2's Emotion Engine processor, while the new 80 gig model relies on software to emulate PS2 and PS1 games. The 60 gig model has better backward compatibility, and for me that's worth more than 20 gigs of hard drive space. The hard drive can always be swapped for a 120 or 160 gig drive.

you can actually take it back, for a refund at the price you bought it, then just buy another one.

when i got my PS3 (launch) The price dropped 2 weeks afterwards, and the shop gave me the difference, a week later the price returned to normal!

Lol Matt your lucky.The extra 20GBs really dont bother me i still have 35GB left and then my external will come in very handy.

i saw 10 80s and 4 60s at nebraska furniture mart also like 25 360 pros and 20 elites but no wiis also dude they have everything plus like 20 kiosks for videogames and 2 or 3 have like 5 tvs displaying the same stuff so people can watch and stuff i played some dude on the 360 i think it was football 2k8 well it ended in a tie nd he kept fouling and getting penalties everytime he did get a foul or penalty he said dude im so high i was like WTF then he left and i almost bought a 360 cuz i just felt like it then i thought well maybe when another price drop comes and then i left also is test drive unlimited any good?(ps2 version}
