any advice on buying ps3's on ebay

I say buy it from walmart and keep the recept and the packaging so if it messes up you can exchange it for a free brand new one oh and you could take out the hdd and have an extra 60 gig i'm sure they wont notice it's gone.

i wouldnt go ebay, they say that "oh its NIB" but the thing is, is how the hell did they get pictures of the console if its new in box?? i personally am going through dell, if yer in the US, the sales tax is almost half than walmart (well in CO) and you get free 3-5 day shipping, and they're controllers are $10 less and stuff like that

GameStop are selling cheap 20Gb's if you don't need all the extra's.

I would either buy from Walmart OR Amazon.com.

The ONLY way I would even consider buying a PS3 off Ebay is if:

1 The seller has a positive feedback ratio of 100%

2 The seller has been on Ebay longer than a year, is an individual (not a dealer or store), and has at least 10 transactions

3 The console is sold to you complete as packaged, and is in new condition

4 If the console came with the original receipt (not a copy)

The PS3 is an extraordinarily complex and well built machine. For that reason, I would just assume buy new, which I did. However, if the conditions listed above are met, the chances of receiving a working PS3 are good. If it doesn't work, having the original receipt will allow it to be repaired under warranty.

Don't try this with a 360 though. They have way too many problems to begin with.

yeh i got some, DON'T BUY ONE......not trying to be funny but you don't what country they got it from or what they did to it , if somthing is wrong with it then what??????????
