GRAND THEFT Auto developers Rockstar are once again putting themselves in the headlines the only way they know how, by courting controversy.
Just last week we reported that Miami anti-videogames crusader Jack Thompson has been complaining of attacks on his character by the company, and this week Rockstar has been stirring it up concerning their upcoming PlayStation 3 outing for the series.

A number of "leaked" screenshots for the next GTA game show what appear to be sex scenes in the game. For anyone who has been under a rock for the last three months, hidden sex mini-games are what set off the entire Hot Coffeegate scandal which saw everyone from nutjobs to Hillary Clinton weighing in on the anti-videogames racket.

Now Rockstar is stirring it up via said leaked images which may see us getting sex as standard with the next GTA game.

The antics of Rockstar may have their charms, but at the moment the company is running around like a spoiled brat which realises it can get more attention by whooping it up.

As we speak the ESRB is auditing every video game since mid-2004 for saucy content and they are threatening to punish companies for third party modifications with racy content. The anti-videogames lobby is going nuts and then some marketing guy comes up with the ideas like CitizensUnitedNegatingTechnology and this.

If anyone is wondering why they have to go and buy their games in sex shops we’ll be happy to pass on the questions to Rockstar PR hacks. Maybe then the firm won’t have so much time to cause trouble?

i say go rockstar....**** jack thompson.

theres sex in rated R movies

why not in a video game.

im glad rockstar is pushing this.

people are just stupid and dont even realize...the attack on GTA is bogus ya know why?

because there are alot of other games out there that already show sex in them. Leisure suit larry you get to unlock full frontal sex scenes....and lets not for get "the guy game" where upon answering the questions correctly players get to view live female personas flash them.

if this idiot jack thompson was really informed it wouldnt just be about GTA it would be about the large amount of games that are already out there that show mass amounts of nudity, cursing, violence, and sex.

I love how in our society we can have a video game where we shoot old ladies heads off, run over pedastrians, beat people with bats till they are dead, and take their money....but yet if we god forbid show a sex scene its the worst of the worst.

then again america's priorties have been screwed up since the bush administration so why should i be surprised?

Exactly. Rated R movies are suggested for people 17 years or older; Mature rated games are suggested for people 17 years or older. There is sex in rated R movies; there is sex in mature rated games. I believe I see a connection between the two. Is it really that bad to put sex into games? If parents were doing a good job of parenting they would be looking at every game the kid gets and whatever they dont approve of just means the kid cant get the game period. As for everyone 17 and older, especially guys, parents expect us to be involved with sexual themes in some way whether it be from looking at pictures/movies on the internet or talking about it with friends. For we 17 year olds (and older) talking about sex is just a natural thing.

Well I wish rockstar would stop putting sexual content in their games, cos as soon as someone knos they have and you have the game they think that the only reason you have the game is for sexual content (as if I couldn't find it elsewhere)

i like the idea if the games rated r or m , then no one under 17 should buy the game then theres no problems

yeah but it would still be rated M with or without sex stuff. It's like a twisted marketing ploy.

I don't know! I thought for sure they'd have learned their lesson...wrong!

I guess as long as its not hidden it won't raise as much of an uproar?? I think the game would be better off without it, but whatever... I guess its about crime and violence anyways, so why not throw sex into the mix as well. Whatever Rockstar decides is their business, so I'll leave it to them.

its part of it, but i don't think it should be in game, just very suggestive cut scene's etc.

I don't think it should be in the game, but if they're gonna do it anyways then I guess they can go right ahead. I'll just have to ignore that part and just do what I do in every GTA title: steal and drive all the different cars around the city and look at all the areas until I get bored, then park somewhere and sit to the radio loop over and over.
