not to be rude but the PS3 doesnt look all that impressive... no offense and the controller looks like a pain in my hand... it looks very uncomfortable... now ya guys are talkin about the different colors and sutff, well the xbox, as you know, has different changable fronts so therell never be dull moment... but im sure you guys are tired of me raggin on the PS3...so sorry....

everyone has their own opinion , ofcourse we cannot judge yet because either ps3 or xbox360 came out yet. But we shall see when they do ! I will probably get the xbox 360 with the ps3.

As important as the cosmetics of our shiny new consoles are , I think your missing the point !
I would still buy the PS3 if it was dressed like david dickenson, Id just have to hide it when freinds came round. I think it looks great...the only problem is that the controller looks....well...hideous. Other than that it looks...well...how it should look. Oh, and I don't care what the color of it is as long as the sytem and games are good.

Maybe it's a good way but I don't really like the way Microsoft have done it. If you want to look at something beatiful you can just paint a wall and look at it all days :P . I want a monster console that you will be too afraid to touch in case it bites you :P

I am going with black in my first choice if no luck, then white then silver. Black looks awesome! PSone and PS2 are not as shine as PS3. You better not touch all over PS3 or you will notice some fingerprints on it :lol:

I can't promise anything (who can who's name isn't Ken Kutaragi) but I'm sure of that I read about that silver was going to be the the only color available for the release. This was due to that it was the most popular color during E3 last year.

I'm definitely gonna get me the black one. Probably because I always got the black version of multi-coloured hardware (N64-Controller, GameCube). I guess I'm just a black-lover. (<- oh, there's so much truth in that sentence :D)
And: Yes, because the PS3 looks awesome in black! :^)
Besides it will work great with the also black PS2 .... for at most 2 weeks, until that one will probably be dumped in the basement .. :roll:

But what's with the controller? Is it silver-only?

The only problem I have with that console is its shape. It's just so .. yuck! Totally unhandy. You can't stack 2 or more consoles on top of each other and you can't put it in a bag together with controller and the other stuff (I guess) because of its round form you can't efficiently fill a bag with it (I guess I'm just a bit too crazy again with that one). This sucks.
And the surface is so sweetly shiny. Will it be prone to scratches?

Oh, and don't get me started on the controller's shape ...

it's definetely white or silver. the old "in" colour was black hence black ps2 and x box. Now its white like the 360. i'll probably choose the white or silver. The white might get dirty but how many times to you carry ti about. i'll just keep it in one place and just dust it after a while.

I would either take the white or the black. They look like they have a glossed shine to them which is a pretty neat effect. Now if a glossy looking metallic blue ps3 came out these two possibilities would be thrown out of the window in an instant.

This is just speculation but accoeding to all the components going into the ps3, there won't be enough space. So expect not only a redesgin of the controller, but the ps3 itself!

Those pictures bring back the memories, That thing looks wierd in comparison to the final PS3, i would say improoved. Love the gloss effect i think thats the in thing nowadays untill the next thing, Alot of tvs have that gloss effect finish to them.

yeah but overall i think this paint job is done better than the previous ones...The rubbers/sliders are not painted over like the other one is...And the metal things that turn it on are all one color ...The other guys one you can still see black behind it...

I think the batarang would have been a mistake...they did make improvements from DS2 to Sixaxis, I like the L2/R2 buttons now, a true trigger-style button (and of course the motion sensing, duh). I just can't imagine that funky shape being comfortable. I think for their next round though, they should try for something that is a little more ergonomic.

oh my wrists click, aswell as thumbs, and when i relax my hands its perfect for a dualshock or sixaxis, just have to tighten.

ok, so back on topic, the one thing you don't hear much about is how the buttons on the batarang controller are see-through w/ the designs on the back. Looks pretty cool, but might not be as good on a black controller.

well they tried that with the boomerang controller...but people all over the net were hating on it, so they ditched it. I think they really intended to have that be the controller but there was such a reaction against it. *maybe* they'll eventually try testing the market by making it anyways.

Don't worry, the PS3 is gonna get vibration again since Immersion probably finally realized they can make better money from teaming up with Sony than just suing them. If we don't hear anything about it at E3, we definitely will by the end of 2007. Just gotta be patient I guess :/

I'll admit, it doesn't feel the same w/o rumble. I was playing tony hawk w/ it off for a minute just to try it, and grinding just didn't feel the same. Hopefully the battery can have a long life though!

Shaq's hands are probably so big that he can play most 2 player games by himself, with one controller in each hand. Don't ask me how he bends his fingers the right way to push all the buttons, but I'm sure he could find a way :)

I've stayed up for longer than 4 days before (flight to america, jetlag, coffee and so on) and it really wasn't pleasant, I don't think I'd have been able to do any gaming at all when I was in that state.
