Or perhaps kept you from buying a game you planned on getting?

Now that you mention it only one demo convinced me to but the game; Call of Duty 2. I played the demo on the 360 just before the console came out and feel in love with CoD. I played that demo so many times. :P other than that a demo hasn't convinced me I need to run out and get whatever game. there have been a few instantiates where a demo has made me think twice about getting the game, then again I don't play many demos
Actually, I bought The Force Unleashed after playing the demo. Before that I had absolutely no interest in the game, but after playing it, I figured it was fun enough to buy. But that is literally the only time I can think a demo has ever been the deciding factor to buying a game for me
Condemned 2 is my most recent purchase after the demo. I just finally picked it up at Best Buy this past week for $9.99.

I actually bought Pure on a leap of faith since I was aware that Blackrock was behind that game and I was not disappointed.
I can't think of a time where a demo has swayed me towards buying a game, but if I already have confidence in the game and the demo turns out horrible it will sway me towards not buying the game.

yea I figured with its SSX style gameplay and the decent tv spots it would have garnered
a wider following

The first game I went out and bought after playing the Demo was Bioshock. I knew it had gotten fantastic reviews but I was never really into the horror genre. The demo was simply amazing though. It is such a great game.
I actually havn't played the Fear 2 demo yet (not a Quore subscriber), but I have seen a lot of footage of the game and I am really looking foreward to it. It looks like a good mix of shooter and horror. I'm glad to see you liked it.

Metal Gear Solid 4 was another one for me. All the stuff about the hour long cut scenes scared me off for a while, but playing the demo so fun I restarted it when I finished and played it again ...and then went out and bought the game.
ive had a couple of games i bought because of the demos but its mostly from word of mouth from my friends on the PSN you all should add me Panzerdemon on the psn we should play sometime or chat it up with mics

Pure got me to get the game. Countless times though the demo has made me not get a game. I am glad too.

honestly, a demo has never convinced me to buy a game, so far, but after playing the WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2009 demo, I might buy that game.

The Alone in the Dark demo apparently threw everybody off the game, but I loved the final game.
On the other hand, the Killzone 2 demo made me hate the game, utterly. I then bought the game just to play with friends, and the differences between the demo and final version made me fall in love.
That's the thing about games now. Demos are released for them, and then the final product changes. If you didn't like the demo, there's a possibility that you could like the final product. That also goes for the exact opposite mind you, it's a conundrum that we just can't avoid hahaha

Mkay, I know that I'm gonna get a bunch of flak for this, so here goes.
I wanted to buy Resident Evil 5, so I played the demo to check it out. After playing said demo, I had no intentions of ever buying the game.

I was already planning on buying it anyways (obviously, since I had to pre-order it at Best Buy to get the early demo code), but the demo of inFamous has confirmed my faith - this is an AMAZING game, and I can't wait to pick it up in a couple of weeks!
It really is one of the best demos I've played in a long time, and it's WAAAAAY longer than I thought it would be - it takes me about an hour to get through the entire thing.

I thought the UFC demo would of got me wanting more but all it's done is made me not want to get it at all now :( and I LOVE mma and the UFC.
Only tried it a couple of times though, gonna see if there's something I'm missing!

I bought the game, and while it is slow to start off, it is VERY rewarding after a couple of hours. Try renting it, you won't regret this game

BioShock was definitely one the demo got me on board for, I ended up buying the day of release, other than that no demo as actually convinced me to buy a game since most of the time I just get demos to play a bit of the game before it comes out but I knew I would buy it, ex Killzone 2, inFamous. But when I think about it one demo did actually make me sure I wasn't going to purchase the game, Haze, that demo was so awful it made me think was this a PS2 game with the PS3 label slapped on it.
