Dont forget launch PS3 60 gigs!!!
Backwards compatible PS3s are now a vintage collection!
I should probably take better care of mine now thats its a collecxtors item

sure you can but you ll have to download the software from the ps3 store. then your ps3 will be able to work with ps3 and ps2 games

Not only the MGS bundled 80gb, but the first couple versions of the 80gb before they discontinued the 40gb are compatible with ps2 games. :)

If you have a 20GB, 60GB or 80GB MotorStorm or Metal Gear Solid 4 PlayStation 3 then yes you can play PS2 games on your PlayStation 3. If you don't own one of these models your PlayStation will not play PS2 games and there is nothing you can do to change that. The PS2 data that you can download as someone mentioned is for the above mentioned models so that hard drive enabled PS2 games can save data to the PlayStation 3's hard drive, it does NOT enable other PlayStation 3 models to play PS2 games.

The 60GB and 20GB or the best for playing PS2 games as they have the PS2 hardware inside them on the Mother Board. The two 80GB models use software emulation to play PS2 games and it's not that great.

Idk about that, my 80gb software emulated PS3 plays everything I've fed it just fine.
