With E3 around the bend, what feature do you think is the most important about PS3 that you hope is impoved on or announced at E3?

Just a general E3 predictions thread for you guys!

I wish i were able to vote for more then one thing. New games, price drop/slim ps3 and the playstation network features are all very important for me

I voted price drop, Sony has a stellar line up this year, but from personal experience I know
that people will still wait for a price drop.

A price drop at e3 or tgs coupled with all the awesome titles this year will get the ps3
selling units like back when MGS4 launched.

Dont think they can afford it, Sony is getting clobbered, lost billions last year. Price drop of more than 50$ is just wishful thinking, unless they start cutting wifi, HDD and blu-ray... selling base model ps3... then maybe

that would be pretty sweet man

It would be pretty cool if they did something that no other company has not done yet, which I have no idea what it could be

or maybe something that no other network has

Maybe Sony should just cut everything but Blu Ray and HDD from the PS3 and sell that. Then maybe even go lower with cutting the HDD. Sell the products separatly too so people spen even more money. Its not a bad idea and if MS can run with the wind doing it then Sony could too haha.

I'm going to pick a price drop, there are 2 xbox's in america for every PS3 out there.

More PS3 users = more people to play against/with online, less exclusives going multiplat
and less 360 exclusives staying exclusive

I going to say new games and why because I want to see many more new games with sixaxis/motion & eye cam support. (it’s future gaming)
A good example would be like (most of the game) “rag doll kung fu” or like heavenly sword which implemented sections of the game. For the ps3 eye a perfect example would be “trails of topaq” which I think was a great little game.

so i have to say that the Microsoft conference didnt really blow me away. i think the best thing was the Natal but that just seemed like a slight upgrade from the Playstation Eyetoy

Ahhh VHS... how I wish you had not died

Dipchit02

Honestly why do you want VHS back? it is so much harder to do anything and much easier to navigate from place to place on a DVD it is like the difference between CD and Cassette

i guess virtual sarcasm has failed again.

i think it would be nice to see cross game voice chat now that we have the text chat we need to get the voice chat going or make more games that will allow you to play your own music over them

Dipchit02
06-06-2009, 10:49 AM
that is one of the things that i like about the 360 si that you can play your music over any game which is something that i have wnated in the PS3 for a long time. and cross game voice chat woudl also be really nice

Dustin S.
06-06-2009, 02:30 PM
LOL cross game chat just gives your friends a reason to bug you to come join their game. My friends do it all the time and i just tell them, sorry didnt see your message while playing.

As for in game music. Its really cool for sports games, racing, maybe odd games here and there but not for everything. Like MGS, if your playing metallica you wont be getting the full effect of the game....Just my opinion. To me it just seems like one of those features that we dont have and for that very reason is why people want it.

Dipchit02

well i want it cuz i play alot of sports games and stuff and yes i agree that it would NOT be a good idea for every game but it woudl be nice for like online play to just have it quiet in the background

At the same time alot of sports games are starting to offer it. MLB The Show has a whole thing about setting up your own music and what not. Killzone offers it online. the feature is there, its up to the developers to allow it in their games. I dont think Sony should jump the gun and just say "here, do it as you wish" because alot of games would be ruined in my opinion. Let developers do it as they see fit, thats what i think is best.

Dipchit02
07-06-2009, 10:57 PM
the problem with just letting the devs do is that they are lazy (see Gabe Newell) and dont want to do extra work if they dont have to. I mean yes there are some that will but most wont

Dustin S.
07-06-2009, 11:04 PM
All Sony has to do is encode the XMB to allow it to happen, and have the developers put either "allow" or "dis allow" if they are still too lazy for that then you shouldnt be buying their games haha. There isnt much worry though, once again Sony first partys are paving the way to add this feature. Killzone allows you to listen to music online.

Dipchit02
07-06-2009, 11:27 PM
but even then there are not many Sony games that are not being released with that feature. I mean that feature was released a long time ago on the PS3 just no games put it in. i believe that it was release before Trophies were

I gotta agree, in game custom soundtracks would be sweet for games like GTA or more pick up and play-ish, I dont mind Metal Gear dictating the tunes

Dipchit02
08-06-2009, 06:03 PM
there are some games that doesnt make sense to use it but either way it would be really nice to just have the option in any game to listen to your own music

There are alot of system errors that needs to be corrected from day one. Aswell, security freatures and apps. that can better combine the system as a whole. The system lacks alot of request apps. that are still no show. Example (Voice Chat in-game XMB, Unlocked game save data for all titles and a passcode to protect the system "during turn-on" etc.)

I would love to see a more intergrated streaming video service. Also better ipod support or at least identify the songs better so I don't have to go back and rename them. A better web browser too.

Not gonna happen with the iPod, Sony and Apple arent on the best of terms

I don't see why Sony would start supporting iPods, I don't believe they think that lots of PS3 users transfer songs which are currently on their iPods,

I think the web browser is fine, would be good with a better one though.

you could always use a better/faster web browser
