I can't see that being a reasonable or even feasible feature, why in the world do you need the ability on a game console to pause just to say, I'll look at YouTube or Facebook, just because the game's paused doesn't mean it's not taking resources and the PS3 browser is unstable enough as it is, that would just be asking for freezing. Maybe once they sort out the browser and enough gamers want it, maybe it would come but I don't see the point. Either leave the game or wait, it's not like anything should be so important you absolutely need such a feature.

no it is not a NEEDED feature but it would be interesting and sometime i am in a game and want to check something out online like a message board to check out something in a game or when im playing NCAA i want to check the players names

I can see that working if they make the internet browser more stable and faster, but it's not very important to me to have something like that

It would have to be an in-game feature, not a PS3 thing. Like stated its too much resources and isn't worth the risk. Some games redirect you to online sites but they ask you to exit the game first.
However EA could easily set up a website that is less resources, make the game go down a level etc..., for things like NCAA rosters and Madden rosters etc...The only other thing i could see it being handy for is game guides or cheat codes (not that those exist anymore). Pause the game, boot the browser, see a FAQ, go back to the game. Doesnt matter to me as i have my laptop around me all the time lol.

Same here, it much easier too, I always found some pages crash the PlayStation 3 and require a hard reset which I hate doing to my console. That being said EA has incorporated what Dustin described slightly into Burnout Paradise, upon loading the game, your taken to the news site which operates in basically the PS3 browser although that's happens before you actually enter the game world so they avoid the resource problem. It's just something that isn't practical because the resources necessary to do it are not worth the cost for the few people who would probably use it, I mean few PS3 games support custom soundtracks and a lot more people have a use for that feature, especially with the ability to store music on your PlayStation 3's hard drive being there since day 1.
