The more I see it, the more I like the look of it. But I knew it was wider than the normal PS3, as soon as I saw it.

If only it were glossy!

A lot of people don't like the glossy effect on the normal PS3, so at least this give them an option now. Personally I prefer the glossy effect, makes it look EPIC.

My glossy PS3 matches my glossy 50" plasma. So I will stick with the glossy. The more I look at the slim the more I just say uuuuuuglllyyy.

To answer your question, tediddy, it lowers the production costs. If you want the price to be $299 things like fancy button and a shinny gloss finish must be removed.. they will be missed greatly.. never will we forget the fancy buttons and shiny gloss finish..

Anyway, I too like the original PS3 more. The Slim doesn't look like the uber powerhouse that it is any more but it still looks nice.

lol yeah my gloss on the PS3 matches my TV as well which makes it look that much nicer lol
