What is the purpose of the Infractions/Bans section?

Edit: I see it has to have a question/issue with a infraction or a ban. But wouldn't it be wise to use a PM system, or even IM/Email outside the forum? IMO, it's a waste of space to have on the forum.

We may be removing/merging some forums in the future, so don't worry about it too much. Although I agree with you.
