Dell has begun to take orders for its XPS 600 Renegade, a gaming desktop that costs just under $10,000. The system trumpets several advanced technologies nary before seen in a consumer desktop. Graphics buffs will be pleased to know that a four nVidia 7900s power the system, delivering 2GB of on-board memory. Also of note is the presence of the world’s first dedicated physics accelerator, the AGEIA PhysX, in essence freeing up the CPU from having to perform physics engines’ complex calculations. The CPU itself, an Intel Pentium Extreme Edition Dual-Core, runs at an overclocked 4.26GHz. While the price tag may seem a little steep, keep in mind that the system comes with the Dell 3007WFP 30-in. flat panel monitor. Finally a use for all those big sacks of money that you undoubtedly have strewn about the house.

i could seriously make that same computer for about $6,000 or less. thats why building your own computer is soo cool because you'll be suprised how much they cheat you. there is no way that should be a $10,000 computer. no way :!:

Well they are a lot of suckers out there that will buy it. The only thing it has going for it would be a warranty and tech support but you could break a lot of stuff before you got to 10,000.

Sounds pretty awesome, but nothing today is made to take advantage of quad-sli graphics. You won't see much more of a performance increase over regular sli. Just check Hard[OCP] for an in depth review, and they actually test a couple of games using a quad-gpu setup.

to me thats a bit much to even have for any type of laptop. no need for all that power. just runs up an electric bill.

Yea, the dual screens is almost too much. I like the 17" display that i have now. But i can't use anything smaller. it makes it feel just too small.
