I was reading an article on Blockbuster and how they are trying to change their motive in order to remain dominant on the movie market. They said they plan to close stores, but at the same time expand their "box" (like redbox) dispensers by thousands along with having their services accisble by every device out there. Thats basically streaming like netflix, they already somewhat do it, but are not as big with it as Netflix.
It is noted that Blockbuster is still the biggest Movie rental company out there with over 5 billion in sells, netflix only has 1 billion.
However reading that, I think Sony should jump on their "troubling" times and bring Blockbuster to PS3. They are all about countering every move Netflix makes, and what better way to counter their streaming service then to bring it to PS3? Im sure Xbox has a deal with Netflix where it has to be exclusive, so Blockbuster cant turn there.
I for one, love Blockbuster. I grew up loving Blockbuster, and their services still out perform their competitors. With their subscription based services you also earn in store rewards. So if it was offered on PS3 and you still earn those rewards, id probably sign up. I dont want to see Netflix, but blockbuster wouldnt bug me.
