As far as I am aware there is no direct way to do so on a PlayStation 3 but nowadays it's much easier to put videos on your PlayStation 3 from YouTube. See awhile back if you wanted to save YouTube videos, you could but got an FLV file out of the download which isn't supported by the PlayStation 3 and required conversion before you could load it on. Nowadays though, you can use this bookmarklet (javascript:if(document.location.href.match(/http:\/\/[a-zA-Z\.]*youtube\.com\/watch/)){document.location.href='http://www.youtube.com/get_video?fmt='+(isHDAvailable?'22':'18')+'&video_id='+swfArgs['video_id']+'&t='+swfArgs['t']} javascript:if(document.location.href.match(/http:\/\/[a-zA-Z\.]*youtube\.com\/watch/)){document.location.href='http://www.youtube.com/get_video?fmt='+(isHDAvailable?'22':'18')+'&video_id='+swfArgs['video_id']+'&t='+swfArgs['t']}) (to use the bookmarklet use the instructions found on the page it comes from (http://googlesystem.blogspot.com/2008/04/download-youtube-videos-as-mp4-files.html)) to download YouTube videos to your computer as MP4 files which the PlayStation 3 supports. Simply download the videos you want, put them on a FAT32 formatted USB drive in a subfolder called VIDEO, which is contained in a folder called PS3 on your USB drive (both folders you will have to create). Once the folders are created and you put the downloaded video files into the VIDEO folder, simply insert the USB drive into a USB slot on your PlayStation 3, go to the video section, look for the USB drive section that will appear, click on it and copy your videos to your PlayStation 3.
