no you dont , the ps3 can be played on any tv its just you need a hdtv with hdmi to take advantage of the full graphics and questions like this belong in the ps3 disscussion next time.

I would recommend using the PS3 with an HD TV. I think getting an HD TV first is one of the reasons for me to get a ps3 since you'll get to see the full potential of the graphics.

I got a HDTV for my ps3 and I'm glad I did, I don't think I could play any other way. And also the tv channels in HD are awesome, I'm glad I made the move to HD!

we have an HDTV, but no HD service, because there are very few channels available.

after seeing PS3 on HD, then seeing it on my SD 14" TV, im really saving for an HDTV now!

I got a HDTV in my room and i havent been able to watch anything hd on it yet but hopefully i get ps3 soon :D

there really is a difference! HDTV's make SD Tv look worse, because it has to convert all the images.

You can just get a comp monitor that is hd ready and use a hdmi to dvi connection it is good and is cheaper then spending alot of money for a crazy tv

heh i got a ps3 and i play it on my small 60cm old tube tv. heh

and make sure if you buy a monitor/tv it is/has HCDP (i think thats what it is) because the ps3 needs that to work

the PC monitor only works if its HDCP compliant (yep, i got burned by this...) so an actual TV is better.

Yeah, got me a SD 14" sony CRT in my room, sadly PS3 works on it, so no excuse to use it down stairs...
