Happy Birthday to the Sega Dreamcast

9999(September 9, 1999) was one of the best days of gaming ever, AKA the day the Sega Dreamcast launched. Setting records as the most successful console launch at the time, the system launched with AAA titles such as Sonic Adventures, PowerStone, Crazy Taxi, Soul Calibur, and more. Though a scant 2 years later, Sega shut down the console, it will remain a cherished piece of gaming history in the hearts of many gamers.

Gonna be playing my Dreamcast all day today! Sonic Adventure, Shenmue, Soul Cal, Jet Grind Radio, Crazy Taxi, Power Stone, Skies of Arcadia, I just don't know where to start! Sega does what PlayStatiwon't!

The Dreamcast is a piece of hardware I would realy like to own.

Definitely a well deserved birthday, no matter how much Sega was responsible for the console's demise, it had some good games, now if only I hadn't left my PS2 versions of some good Dreamcast games at home, e.g Crazy Taxi, Eighteen Wheeler, etc.

I had a dreamcast lol, know someone that still does. It wasnt a terrible console and the current console wars would be completely differnt is Sega actually stuck around. Just think of having 3 big time hardcore gamer machines. Instead of 2 and Nintendo lolly gagging around with casual gamers.

Just imagine how the exclusive content MS keeps doing would work out lol. It would be fun because Dreamcast actually had games i wanted, so id want two consoles in my house. If one company were to jump into the console race (lets face it someone will) Id want it to be Sega again, maybe Atari haha. If anyone new jumps in then i could see the video game empire crumbling very easily. Like Apple, first its just apple, then its HP, then its Dell and before you know there are 10 differnt consoles and too much to choose from.
