Buying a used Xbox360...worth it?

So do u guys think its worth to buy a used xbox360. To me money is really tight right now, but the thing that im concerned about is the fact is it worth to buy one used. i want to buy a hard drive online for $30 from microsoft and u have to register that console id and serial. basicly im worried if i would run into a problem doing that since someone previosly owned it. what do you guys think?? i need opinions!!!!

I would get a new one... they are jaspers and as relable as a PS3... as much as I love my 360 unless you can conferm it's a Falcon I wouldn't mess with it... unless it's cheap

edit: I'm not sure how Microsoft handles used systems, but if you're worried maybe you can contact someone from microsoft... Major Nelson may be able to help you or post on the Xbox.com forums and an MVP may be able to assist you.

NO! For the most part used 360s are not covered by warranty. Considered you are pretty much guaranteed to get the red ring of death sometime, it is worth the extra money to get it new. I would only recommend getting it used if it is covered by Microsoft's warranty.
