Mass Effect 2

So anyone else got Mass Effect 2?

I'd recommend everyone to buy this if they have a 360 or capable PC, it's just so much better than the first game. They've got rid of being able to land on most planets, now all the mining is done from space with a scanner and probes.

The story is much better than the first game, and you don't really have to play the first game to get into this one as it is kinda playable standalone. Which is why I think it is coming to PS3, and I would still buy it for PS3 again if it did come.

This is definitely one of the best games in recent years, so definitely get it if you can. Won't appeal to everyone because it is an RPG, but for those who like stuff like Fallout 3 or Deus Ex, you should like this as well.

Well, I plan on buying Mass Effect 1 today. The hype sorrunding ME2 has got me intrigued. I just listned to Feedback (a gaming talk show) and they suggested that you play ME1 to make the ME2 experince better. They did say that it's not mandatory to play ME1 but I would want the full experince. Apparently ME2 uses your game saves from ME1 as well.

Yeah, the save transfers, so if you have a high level in ME1, you get bonuses in ME2. I was level 48 in ME1 when I completed it, when I imported the save I started at Level 2 and with 100,000 bonus credits.

You don't need to play the first game, but it would make the story and characters more interesting. However, you might find that quite a lot has changed when you move from ME1 to ME2.

I am currently playing ME1 and I am enjoying it. I do feel like I need to take some time off from work to complete it though. I've got a lot of gaming going on right now trying to finish GOW1&2, Battlefield Bad Company 1, and ME1. Just finished ACII but now have the DLC to do.

ME1 isn't too long, it takes about 25 hours if you do everything. ME2 is about 40 hours if you do everything. But when you move from 1 to 2 you'll notice a big difference between the games, fior example, they get rid of the Mako completely.
