Live Going Up in Price
For some reason, Microsoft has felt it necessary to increase the price of Live service throughout the world. The breakdown on the price increases is:
US 1 Month - $9.99 instead of $7.99 3 Months - $24.99 instead of $19.99 12 Months - $59.99 instead of $49.99 UK 1 Month - 5.99GBP instead of 4.99 GBP Canada 1 Month - $9.99 CAD instead of $8.99 CAD Mexico 12 Months - 599 Pesos instead of 499 Pesos All of these price increases will take effect as of November 1st, 2010 so if you want to get Live at a better price jump on Amazon.com or Newegg.com as they have the 12 month cards on for just $39.99 or auto-renew with Microsoft now to get 12 months for $39.99 (one time only though so if you want to continue to pay $39.99 you'll need to buy several Live cards instead).

Any reason why this is happening? Seems extremely stupid on their part, especially with Kinect coming out.

It seems to be coinciding with the release of Black Ops and it's not far off from the release of Reach either, my best guess is so they can squeeze out every last dollar possible out of the holiday season when new 360's are being sold and people need a Live subscription as overall besdies those and Kinect, Microsoft has nothing else major going on on the 360 to get people interested.
Well that or they somehow figured by adding that new ESPN feature that not everyone wants, that was justification for a price increase. Either way it's a poor reason all around and just another catalyst for people looking at a new console to go for the Wii, PS3 or even PC.
