Lloyd, I would seriously suggest checking out Yamaha's line of receivers. That is what I use to power my home theater room, and the sound quality and power are incredible. Check out either the RX-V661 or HT-R6060 7.1 channnel receivers. Both have 2 HDMI inputs, and will fully transmit the PS3's 1080P maximum resolution to a TV and 7.1 channel linear PCM surround sound. Yamaha uses top quality parts for their power supplies and top-of-the-line Burr Brown 192 kHz/24-Bit DACs for sound processing. You won't find a better sounding receiver for the money. The retail price for either one is $549, but you can find them as low as $350 online.

Here's a link to Yamaha's receiver page, so you can see more info.

I've used Yamaha receivers in my surround systems for years. Since Yamaha makes great instruments too, they really try to replicate the live sound in their receivers. Match them with good speakers, and you'll hear the difference.

No, because Seperates are mid-high end, where as all togethers tend to be Low - Mid range, Seperates are better made etc.
