if it works on the ps2 and it is usb, it works on the ps3. if it is a ps2 plug, grab a pelican adapter. it will work.

Would I have to reprogram my Madcatz wheel to play GT5?

I hope not. Because I don't have the manual. It was my brother's, and he doesn't keep the box or the papers to things like that.

any usb device should work, along with any ps2/ps1 device plugged in through pelicans ps3/ps2 cable.

The Logitech G25 wheel will work fine with the PS3 and also GT5. I have two Logitech wheels, the GT Force and Driving Force models, and they both work perfectly with PS3.

PS2 compatible wheels that used the USB connection work fine on PS3. Wheels that used the regular PS2 controller plug, such as the Mad Catz models, are not guaranteed to work, even with a PS2 to PS3 USB controller adapter. If you have a wheel with the regular PS2 controller plug, try testing out the adapter with the wheel before buying it. I bought a pair of Pelican PS2 to PS3 USB adapters, and they didn't work with my Nuby Soul Calibur II universal arcade sticks. That sucked.
