what makes live worth $60 a year?

From what I've heard, XBOX Live doesn't have that much more than what the Playstation Network has but people with 360's still think that Live is worth the $60 a year that they pay for it

I don't mean to sound insulting to people who pay for Live on this site, but is it actually worth the extra $60 a year that they pay ofr it and is it c=actually as good as fanboys say?

To answer your question, there isn't anything special that XBL does that makes it worth the $50 bucks a year. MS knows people will pay to play their games online, pure and simple.

the only thing i know is the cross game chat/party system(which ps3 is getting in the next update?) and 3d avatars? but i guess we kinda have home for that.. which is actually way bigger, so to me its just the cross game chat?.. people have said to me "nah its because it doesnt lag, it lags less" n stuff like that but i have played the 360 and it experiences just as much lag! i guess theres the twitter/msn/facebook intergration? but again we have the browser for twitter facebook lol so yeah to me there paying ?40 a year for one thing? lool

thats what a lot of fanboys say about the 360, it lags a lot less and they think the PS3 lags a lot but I guess lag mostly depends on the connection that you're using.

I get a bit of lag at home due to the fact of my 55% wireless strength and at residence, the internet just plain sucks but its not as bad on PS3

i only really lag in cod and its only when the host has bad connection( i know this because they have full signal an everyone elses sucks and then the game ends n they leave haha) mine is 100% signal :P

Was messin with my friend trying to get him to come clean about Xbox, but according to him its worth 60 bucks because

-It has cross game chat
-More players
-MS uses the money to better the Xbox unlike Sony that has no money to make things better.

MS 10 year plan : ?40 x 10years= xbox costs ?199 + ?400 for online play alone .. so no its not worth it when you can get it for free for a ?250 console from sony....

Was pachter the only one that said it would be raising prices? I hear it would go up to 60 instead of 50?

my friend is getting a ps3 for christmas and i was like sweet cuz u know u dont have to pay for online. but he didnt even know that LOL

The only reason it comes up is because they HAVE to justify why its better so they have a reason to be paying other than stupidity. They would absolutely go crazy if it was suddenly free, i gurentee they would be all over our face.

However MS knows they get away with it and continue to do so. People happily pay the fee to play and come up with random reasons why. Its kinda dumb to say "i pay 50 bucks a year to breath air!" but but i do it free? "Yeah buy my air is more fresh and smells good!" your right next to me, i dont smell anything...

I've met people who think that $50 or $60 a year isn't that much but PSN is only free so its obviously better when u pretty much get the exact same thing.

really, the only thing they get that we don't is a small bit of extra dlc but it doesn't make it worth $60 a year when they still have to buy it
