problem
okay I just got done play some Batman Arkham Asylum and all of a sudden my PS3 doesn't show up on my TV monitor.
I managed to get the disc out but I can't even turn the system off can anyone please help me?

Did you try to force it to shutdown by holding your finger on the power button for several seconds because that's supposed to work regardless of what the console might be doing. Flipping the switch on the back or unhooking the power cable is only a last resort if everything else fails as doing either can severely damage your console.

I flipped the back switch because holding the power button wouldn't work. I know it could have severely damaged my console but it was the only option.
I haven't played a game on it but it turned back on after I flicked the back switch
