Apple Game consle?

Sure some of us have heard the rumor for awhile now that Apple is looking to get into the game market but apparently they looking to bring games to the Apple TV that will only be the first step to getting into the market all together

Considering their last and only try at the real video game market, called the Apple Bandai Pippin, 13 years ago was a failure, they only sold 42,000 units I can't see Apple being willing to try again, today's console market is more cutthroat and can't really support any more consoles, why do you think no other company that has tried to get into the console market in recent years has failed, well that and Apple's desire to control absolutely everything would probably turn developers away, even iPhone/iPod Touch development has been hard for developers, since Apple has to approve the app if you want a chance at getting any sales through the App Store.
