AC2 Thoughts

This is in no way a review, more like a rant on my current impressions.

Compared to the first the game did seem to sneak up me and "assassinate" my bias. I love the new story system where unlike the first, in which you can assume that you have ten targets and around five generic pre-main mission quests ( which did not impress), this one has a 5-12 chapter story behind every mission and your not a nobody anymore your a respectable noble. I love how they reveal your enemies as you go and give some sort of history and attachment. It's interesting to see how each main character is historical and falls in with his death event in reality. The side quests and features like Assassination Contracts, a Fortress to upgrade as a source of income, along with something known as beat-up event are a great plus.

The great feature about this sequel was it built up on the previous. Which disappoints me that the previous did have some of these things but impresses me that this one did. For instance you collected flags in AC1 which gave you nothing in this one you chase for hidden objects with rewards of unlock-able video, extra money income, armour upgrades.

The weapons systems is interesting but doesnt have any use as the best weapons in the game can be picked up by defeating the weakest AI's and you wont really die much. Though, as a positive you can't defeat you enemies with countering any more which adds some depth in fighting amongst other things.

The game has some bad feature like the clinging through free running, and I haven't yet finished the game only around half done but It's enjoyable and seems like a great foundation for AC3 to be great. I hear the ending is great

What are your thoughts?
