Has Microsoft fixed the overheating problem consoles made after the problem was found

No. My friend bought the elite (years ago) thinking that would be better than the original xbox and his has just broken down. The new consoles have a "jasper" chip in them which is better. Guess we wont really know until people have had them for a while.
the easiest way to truely find a Jasper is to open the small flap on the box, look by the bar code, and see what the amperage is. For the Jasper you want 12.1 a.
