That its sales are proportional to its install base

but that is just it it is not proportional to its install base becasue the 360 had 4 games come out 2 years after realease (2007)that beat inFAMOUS and 2 years after realease the install base of the 360 was 13.2million and the PS3 was 16.4 million and inFAMOUS came out about 2.5 years after release.

Gotta remember Infamous is semi experiement too. Its coming from a studio that is only known for Sly Cooper, its a super hero game, its something entirely new for gameplay. Most of the 360 titles are NOT. Gears of war for example, its a shooter (appeals to anyone with a brain of a guy), made by a well known studio (epic) and had advertising support from MS like a year in advance. Alomst all the titles on that 360 list follow the same route, with exception of 1 or 2.

inFamous is really doing better than expected.

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune sold 32K first week, and 117K the first month. That's great for Naughty Dog, and the amount of copies sold compared from the first week to the first month is a real boom.

yeah that is a pretty good point. but i mean still with the install base now you would think that there would be better sales but it doesnt always happen

The 360 numbers were 360 only.

Anyways, I guess the important thing to keep in mind is that those were all US sales, and in the US, the PS3's current install base is equivalent to what the 360's was way back in November 2007, thats how far behind it is.

Still though, you look at a game like Crackdown, which was released when the 360 had about 7 million units in the US, and is similar in terms of game design... It sold well over 300K.

The good news is Sony is the only one capable of putting a game in the top 10 sales right now, at number 3 sits InFamous. The rest of the top 10 is wii crap....which shouldnt be counted for this generation sales.

If you are crowing about Crackdown being similar to inFamous, do not forget that
Crackdown benefited from being associated with the mind that brought the world GTA

Sly Cooper was a good game, but no brand seller by any means. Would be awesome to see Sly Cooper for PS3 though!

Sly is a good game in its own right but comparing it to GTA is a stretch

Getting off topic
And Dipchit02... I'd like to see more sources/stats like Dustin and Nick in your posts if you're gonna debate with them
