PlayStation 3 exclusive Gran Turismo 5: Prologue sold 116,000 retail copies as it stormed to third place on the Media Create Japanese Software Chart.
It was the only PS3 title that made the top twenty in a chart pretty much dominated by software for Nintendo’s Wii and DS, with Mario Party DS edging out Wii Fit for the top spot.
GT5: Prologue’s numbers are even more impressive when you consider that the title was also availiable as a digital download on the PlayStation Network, which means that the retail numbers are below what they potentially could have been.
