In a recent interview at a Microsoft press event with WonderWall, Valve has acknowledged the rumors about Left 4 Dead. Valve's Chet Faliszek confirmed that the game will remain a PC and Xbox 360 exclusive despite all the rumors of a possible PS3 port.

"Many people say that they heard rumors that Left4Dead is coming to PS3, however despite telling them this isn’t true they still don’t believe us, what more can we say than it is not," said Faliszek.

Valve has not been too friendly with PS3 ports, EA had to purchase rights to do the Orange Box port for PS3 and had no server support from Valve for Team Fortress 2. So while the rumors will keep spreading, don't be expecting Left 4 Dead to be hitting PS3 anytime soon. I guess the game just cant compete with the heavy hitters like Resistance 2 this fall coming exclusive to PS3.
