The PS3 is often lambasted for being excruciatingly difficult to develop for. This is especially the case in multiplatform titles, with an EA developer once even describing the process as 'trying to fit a triangle shape into a circle hole'.
However, in a recent interview, Resident Evil 5 producer Masachika Kawata spoke about his experience programming for the PS3. He admitted that he "can't really say that one platform is proving more problematic than the other". Going even further, he added "I haven't found [developing for the PS3] to be too tough".
With the PS3 now into the second year of it's life cycle, could it be that developers are finally figuring the console out? Capcom's Kawata certainly seems to think so.
Resident Evil 5 is due out March 2009. |
