The official Sony Blog held an official LIVE Q and A event just a few minutes ago and we have all the latest updates from the whole interview right here. The interview was with Seb of GG about the upcoming hit Killzone 2. Here are the highlights:
Killzone.com will feature live stat tracking to absolutely everything you do online with the game. Kills, kicks, assists all of it will be tracked and viewable with killzone.com.
The game is utilizing the Blu-ray technology and while it fits on a 25GB Blu-ray, Seb states that any format with less space would have been completely impossible to do. Go Blu-ray?!
Seb explains that the Valor trophy is not impossible for those lacking skills. The more people that play, the greater number of slots to get the trophy for the week. Nothing too drastic here
The game will feature a pre-game lobby where players can chat openly and pick their factions. Once the game begins, players are split into their factions and told to chose their spawn points.
Another neat feature for Killzone.com will be tournaments. Clans can set up their own with 64 team tournements, but GG will also be hosting official tournaments with up to 256 teams.
Each clan will also receive their own killzone.com page complete with their own forum
Unlike Resistance 2, Killzone 2 will allow players to gain points in every mode as long as its not bots and your killing other humans. Seb also mentions Killzone 2 does not come with the ability to fix noobs, sorry.
Seb then lists all the game modes that will be featured in the game including : Bodycount (Team deathmatch), Assassination, Search and Retrieve, (Capture and hold) Capture the flag and search and destroy
Seb is not married, we thought this was very important news for all you young ladies out there
And more good news for the ladies, there are lady characters for online play
Finally the big one is custom soundtracks will be availble for online play ONLY. The game uses the in game soundtrack to make single player moments better and thus needs the games music. So no custom soundtrack for single player.
There were a lot of key announcements during the Q and A and we covered most of the major ones for you. There is still lots of news about Killzone 2 in this final week so stay tuned as we bring more info.
