Capcom announced via a press release earlier today that they've shipped 2 million copies of Street Fighter IV.  While the number shipped is not equivalent to the number sold, early reports indicate that the title is doing extremely well in the market.  The title sold out in Japan, selling over 100,000 copies it's first week.  Preliminary data is also indicating that the title hit the number one spot for both the 360 and PS3 over in the UK.  Street Fighter sales drove console sales in both regions as well.

Nontheless, impressive numbers for Capcom!  There off to a great start for 2009, which is only getting better for them, with Resident Evil 5, Bionic Commando, and Dead Rising 2 all confirmed to release this year.
