Upstart developer Spiders Games has just announced a new title, Mars.  The game takes place on the titular planet, which has been colonized over the course of 200 years.  Communication breakdowns with Earth lead to widespread panic, as society crumbles and the planet falls into an every-man-for-himself disaster.

The game is an action RPG, "combining character progression, immersion, equipment collection, additional quests and a solid storyline with rhythmic combat sequences, a sense of power from the beginning of the game and... bosses with sequential behaviour".  Mars is also set to be 1-4 players in an 'arena' mode.

No release date has been given, but the game is set to be released for the PC and PS3.
