Alpha Protocol, a join project between Sega and Obsidian Entertainment, has been confirmed for an October 2009 release. Previously expected to hit in the summer of 2009, the new release date was announced earlier today by Sega Europe, via a press release. We contacted Sega of America to clarify this was a global release date, and they confirmed to us that the title will indeed release simultaneously in the both regions.
Alpha Protocol is a modern age spy action/RPG, developed by Obsidian Entertainment, the team behind blockbusters like Neverwinter Nights 2 and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2. Similar in design to Mass Effect, Alpha Protocol features a more action orientated, less stat-based combat system. The title also boasts a robust dialogue system, allowing players to assume the attitudes of the 3 most famous agents, Jack Bauer, James Bond, and Jason Bourne.
Alpha Protocol will be available for the PS3, XBox 360, and PC. |
