Right before GDC, the new independent, France-based developer Spiders Games announced their PS3/PC exclusive Mars.  Set on the red planet itself, Mars takes place 200 years after the planet was colonized.  Disaster strikes, and colonists are divided into two groups, those who were mutated by the suns harsh radiation, and those who managed to stay safe in shelters.  Featuring two distinct characters with their own stories, a deep combat system, and multiplayer support, Mars is looking to breathe some fresh air into the action RPG genre.

The team recently released the first gameplay trailer of the game.  The footage, based on pre-alpha work, can be seen on their official website.
