Television anime adaptations of Sega's Valkyria Chronicles, and Leaf's Tears to Tiara strategy role-playing games have aired their pilot episodes in Japan this week. The Valkyria Chronicles anime keeps the graphical "sketch" style of the game, whereas Tears to Tiara goes for the standard anime approach.

If you're a fan of anime and gaming, be sure to check both of them out.
Both games were released last year exclusively for the PlayStation 3 and it seems that developers have realised the best way to advertise your game in Japan is to make it into an anime.
Sega's Overworks development unit created the Valkyria Chronicles game, which is set in the wartorn country of Gallia in a fictional version of 1930s Europe. The PlayStation 3 exclusive game first released in Japan on April 24, in Europe on October 31, and in North America on November 4 2008.
Tears to Tiara was developed by Leaf and originally released for the PC on April 28, 2005 in Japan. A remake was released for the PlayStation 3 on July 17, 2008 in Japan, Hong Kong, and Taiwan entitled Tears to Tiara: Kakan no Daichi. It has yet to be released in Europe and North America.
