Activision have just announced that Radical Entertainment's, Prototype, will be shipping this year to European retailers on June 5th, and shortly after to North American retailers on June 9th.

The game was originally scheduled for release on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC for fall 2008. The game was delayed to 2009 because the developers said they:

"...needed more time to deliver the game the team initially set out to create."

The new release date means the game will release in a similar time frame to SuckerPunch's inFamous. Both games have looked similar since their announcement, but have recently began to pull away in terms of gameplay. It will be interesting to see how both games turn out in the end.
