Recently there has been loads of internet hype over 2K and Gearbox's Borderlands. Rumors circulated that the game was going to look fully cel-shaded and cartoon like. Those rumors were apparently debunked when Randy Pitchford, president of Gearbox, stated that "Borderlands is not cel-shaded -- it's a gritty and serious world." Well fellow gamers, think again.

Gearbox just recently updated the Borderlands Website with a new screenshot that shows off what direction they have taken the Borderlands art. No, it's not exactly cel-shaded. Not exactly.

In my opinion, it looks to be some sort of hybrid between cel-shaded and "gritty and serious". Definitely looks nice though, and it holds it's seriousness. Once again, I am excited for this title. Look for it before the end of this year.
