Love 'em or hate 'em, the Warriors/Musuo franchise have proved to be wildly successful, with over 10 main entries and even more spin-offs and side games. The latest game in the franchise to be announced is Warriors: Legends of Troy. Legends of Troy is the Japanese publisher's attempt to cash in on the Western audience, telling the story of the highly romanticised Trojan War era.
Developed by Koei Canada, the game will be the first title in the franchise striving for an M rating, and will not only be thematically darker than previous entries, but will also include blood, gore, and dismemberment. Legends of Troy will also feature a more narrative story, embellishing historical fact with elements of mythology. Online co-op and competitive play will also be making it's debut to the franchise, though there's no word if local co-op will be forgone.
While no gameplay footage has been released, the game sounds promising conceptually at the very least. The game is due out for the PS3 and XBox 360, though no release date has been announced as of yet. |
