Ghostbusters is not the biggest blockbuster title of the summer, but fans will compare anything. Sony was semi asking for trouble when they announced it to be exclusive in EU regions though. Being the lead platform, why would Sony need to worry?
Turns out that is not the case, despite being the lead platform the PS3 still lacks in potential. First being reported in comparison videos that the PS3 version has poor renders and flat textures compared to the 360 version. Now those with a HD TV are noticing the game is not running native at 720P, instead its boasting about at 960 by 540 pixels. That’s about three fourths where it should be.
Speaking about the issues, Terminal Reality had this to say
"Personally, I want to show off our PS3 technology. We're one of the few developers who love the PS3 and have a great time with it. We have great technology for the PS3 and we want to show it off.
"We're running the same game for both platforms but if we made a PS3-only game, for example, you could double the amount of objects on screen that you're seeing. The PlayStation 3 has seven processors and the 360 only has three, so seven versus three means you can do a lot more on the PS3. We're keeping the game the same over both platforms so we don't want to take out any features," Randel added.
Its questionable why the game looks sub par compared to the 360 version. With the recent collapse last year, they had plenty of time to revamp the game for release. Maybe they just forgot to go back and check their mistakes? Who knows, the game is still doing pretty well with scores and Ghostbuster fans seem to love it either way!
