Seems like fans' wishes may come true as Capcom Japan has put up a new teaser site featuring the date 1560.

Shui Ta, a San Francisco examiner states that, "the hints point to the long-rumored new Onimusha game as the orignal title in the series was set in the year 1560. Furthermore, all the games feature Japanese calligraphy in their logos."

The year 1560 is significant in Onimusha and Japanese history due to the heavy reference to Oda Nobunaga, who features as the main enemy in several of the Onimusha games.

Update: Turns out this teaser site is referring to a new Sengoku Basara game NOT an Onimusha game.
